Twists & Turns, Smiles & Miles

I love the feelings that are evoked by riding. It's just so amazing to see the road open up in-front of you, going on as far as you can see, carving a path in the wilderness, wrapping around the edge of a mountain, or following the path of a river or coastline. If someone asked me what freedom means to me, that would be it. There's just nothing like it.
It's been a while since I went on a long (more than 300 miles) trip on my own just to experience the journey and I've been itching to go recently. This weekend is looking up for something awesome like that... we'll see. I want to break my distance record of 863 miles in one day. Maybe 101 down to Monterey (1,008 miles) and I-5 back (905 miles)... I don't know.
------
It has been awesome getting to know all of you guys and gals again. I can't remember a time in my life when I was so busy with events and hanging out. It's exactly what I need to get over the loss of my friend and to just be more happy about life in general. Thank you all very much for being so friendly and welcoming!

| | I had something similar happen on the way home from work last night. It occured to me that while I was riding, I wasn't aware of my hands or feet, or really anything else from the neck down. I was in "the zone". My helmet was a spaceship and I was at the helm. All systems were go and I was flying! Kinda corny, I know. But, it was Zen-like and made me smile. |

| | when we are at a loss and feel like nothing is going to come of anything, the soul of the rider emerges to remind us why we do this. Ride on and live free. |

| | Honey bunches!!! I totally get that. I don't know a time when I'm on my bike that I'm not either grinning ear to ear, or am just overcome with this awesome feeling that things could not be any better than they are at this moment. I think that is what connects us! I love that I have met you, you are, as you know one of my favorite people! |
