| Track School Dazed ![]() Joined: Oct 2005 From: CENTRAL I Ride: When I can | Dear Racing enthusiasts: SRP is gaining momentum. Several events have been held. The Sheriff has conducted regional driver training. Drag events are beginning this weekend! Clean up is planned for next Sunday (I will see you there), and we aim to have a long term operator contracted by October so we can really begin to shine in 2009. We have had NASCAR representatives to the site and they have indicated interest in a race here. But all of this is subject to Spokane keeping the track open. My opponent and fellow commissioner have made it clear they will sell this facility if given the chance. They don't care if it remains a track! Todd and I have staked what appears to be our political career on the decision to save this facility because we believe in what it represents to our heritage of racing, to our economy and to our community. As sitting incumbants in office, there is no other explanation for our dangerously close Primary Election results. The opposition has used this issue as a tool to unseat us and some are buying their lies about this Track. WE NEED YOUR HELP NOW! The racing community must show the same enthusiasm now as they did when arguing for us to buy the track. There is no time to waste, there is no question, there is no alternative. Get registered and get every person you know registered to VOTE this November. No One can sit by and expect someone else is doing something! It comes down to VOTES. It comes down to how bad we want this. Get involved in our re election campaigns. Order signs and bumper stickers from myself or Todd Mielke. Volunteer to wear our shirts, attend and event, make some phone calls, raise the money necessary for us to run a political campaign. If everyone does something, it will make for easy work. You can do all of these, including register to vote on my website at www.richardforcommissioner.com When you are at racing/car/motorcycle events, TAKE ACTION! Get voter registration cards from Spokane County Elections office and pass them out. Take some of our materials and hand them out. Create your own sign up sheet and get volunteers to turn over to us for grassroots support. Help us get our message out. THAT IS WHAT THE OPPOSITION TO THIS TRACK IS DOING AND YOU MUST ACT NOW IF WHAT WE STAND FOR IS IMPORTANT TO YOU! Just read the newspaper or listen to talk radio if you do not believe me. Thank you for those who have stepped forward so far, but I need much more help if we are to win this election. Sincerely, Mark Richard 251-3643 PS> I will be hosting a meeting in the next two weeks to hand out materials and talk about how we can work together to save this track. Please reply to my email if you wish to attend. |
