Hey all!

Well this is my first time here on the boards, and I'm a new rider too (well about 2 months into it). I just bought a '05 Kawasaki Ninja (Blue); its a 500 and I haven't felt a need for more power, but I just feel bad cause everyone else is ridin a 600 or higher. Oh well, lol.

I'll try to check up on these boards when I can, but if you see me around campus feel free to say hi or whatever. The weather is getting worse, but I'm down to ride any chance I get.

Just moved to Quincy for a few months. You guys are a little ways away, but I've quickly come to realize Quincy's only good for practicing stoppies on back roads and gettin mean mugged by weekend warriors on harleys rollin through. Also, I think the cops already know me and where I live...

i'm over by the fairgrounds. usually it's me and ducatiduane, maybe a couple other people. i usually don't ride with a lot of people from around here because a lot of them ride like asshats and i don't feel like crashing from someone else's stupidity. but yeah, you're welcome to ride with us. no clubs as far as i know.

Alright cool. I went to campus utotem tonight from 4 to 5pm. I thought I read on here that there was a bike night then. Obviously not though since nobody showed up. It started snowing again as I was leaving so that could have had something to do with it. As far as a club goes, I have decided I am going to get one started through the school. I just don't know many riders around here although I see guys all over town. I wonder if this board would be a good way to get the word out? What do you think?

A. A club is a good idea. However, I know a couple people worked on it. There are various problems, mainly insurance. Any sort of club 'meeting' could not involve any sort of riding...because in the event someone crashes...the school is responsible.

This board and Ellensburg...dont go to well together. Theres a few people...but most of them dont sign on regularly.

Anyway, welcome to the boards and to town. I see from your avatar you've been to the track...track day junkie or a one time thing?

to there being an INSANE amount of squids around these parts

It seems that a release form should remedy the insurance and liability issue. I actually already asked the BOD about this. So I think that part is a go. I really just want to make a club so people have a solid group of guys to ride with. Not really into making it complicated but there are some nice benefits to having the club through the school. As for the track time I have been to about 30-40 track days. Most of them were at No Problem Raceway in Louisiana others were at JenningsGP in Florida. I have yet to ride at any of the tracks up here but have been to a few races at Pacific. Is there a group of guys around here that go over to tracks?

Im jealous! I've heard a lot about Jennings and someday...want to get down there. As for people going to the track...theres me. (almost) Every nesba day this year. And I just met Adam Bowen not to long ago, down in Yakima...dont know any more regulars. . . it seems to be a rare thing in these parts

Pacific is half way decent. Technical and the pavement is worse than most of the roads in this state.

Portland was just repaved. It is a fast track. And dear God, it is amazing.

Spokane

we dont really know whats going on there.

Anyway, long story but I got screwed over with a shop...if I ever get that money back Ill be doing more than just the Nesba days. If you ever decide to do one...

Oh, and I saw your posts about bike nights...I usually end up putting them together. But, I've been working 6 days a week and going to school so I've been a bit busy. We'll get more going soon. You gonna be around this summer?

Ya, I will be around this summer taking some classes. Nesba does some awesome track days at Barber motorsports park too. That place is awesome, its like a golf course with a motorcycle track running through it. What happened with Spokane? I know it was kinda crappy anyway but is it closed now? I would love to go to portland for a track day.

Long story, if you want to hear it all you can search. Basically, the owner didn't pay investors so the courts took it...auctioned it off. The county did research on it to keep it as a track...and they ended up winning. Chances are high it will remain a track...but nothing is final yet. I never got to ride there, so I dunno how it actually is...but I doubt its much worse than Pacific
