They just beg to be thrown over in a corner. I was hitting lean angles that I didn't even think I was capable of, and I wasn't even trying. I have never been very proficient or comfortable going to the right, why? I have not a clue. After installing 180/55 17 rear and 120/60 17 front 2CTs on my '03 636, I have not one single complaint. These tires just stick to the road. I would definitely recommend these to anybody and everybody. Before ![]() After ![]() Last edited by motostunter; 08-27-2008 at 12:39 AM.. |

Second, the old tires are Dunlop D218s. The point of the old tires is the portion in the center of the tire where you can start to see it is beginning to show cords. As soon as I saw that, I had to get rid of those tires. I got the 218s from a friend. I managed to put about 7ish thousand miles on them, but I hated them from day 1. I couldn't complain too much, they were free. |

| MotoGP Champion ![]() | ![]() I run the 2CT's on my 10 and I really like them. Glad you are confident in the new tires you chose. From a neutral postion most of the tires today are amazing. It all comes down to personal preferance and what particular tire gives you confidence. Have Fun Be Safe |

| WMRRA Qualifier Joined: Feb 2008 From: Portland, Oregon I Ride: '07 GSXR-750 | the bike will turn in much quicker with the Michelins due to the different profile than the D218's. Had you gone to Pirelli's or the qualifiers you probably would have noticed the same improvement over those things. But glad you are happy with your new tires. |

I have to say, as much as I agree they are awesome tires, what you are so thrilled with is the fact that they are still new and haven'y been worn in the middle. I always love the first 600 miles (after the break in of course) with new tires because they just are so sharp still. Not sure if what I am saying is clear, basically once the tires get worn down in the middle they won't drop into turns as quick. |

![]() btw, PP's FTMFW. These tires kick ass, and it looks like I'll soon be getting a chance to try the PP2CT's for the first time.... I've noticed, though, that it's WAYYY easy to take the chicken strips off the PP's, as opposed to, say, Pirelli's. Those suckers still had like 1/2'' strips after a couple sessions at the track, and I took my PP's strips off just doing some spirited jaunts around town, nothing crazy.... Profile on the edge of the Pirelli's seems to get soo raked at the edge, it's hard to really get all the way to the edge, at least in street-riding, lol

BTW, There aren't any chicken strips on the rear, and the front has about 1/16 of an inch (give or take).

| Superbiker Joined: Jul 2006 From: Thurston County, WA. I Ride: GSXR1000 | ![]() The PP's as well as the PP 2ct is a good tire for the masses. They give decent traction, pretty good life for a performance tire and michelin has done a fantastic job with advertising. However, IMO the tire is way over rated. If you run them hard, they overheat and get greasy after 4 or 5 laps. Although you see lots of guys on PP's even at the track, if you pay attention you won't see many guys running sub 40's on them. |

My issue is, I do alot of commuting between my occassional trackday jaunt and I need a tyre that can do both. For me, the vanilla PP has excellent wear characteristics - until they're done, then get them the hell off your bike. The 2ct has great wear characteristics, feels grippier (to me) and is an excellent all-rounder for me. Now that I have a spare rear rim I might consider gettign a Corsa III on it to change out for the track - but being at the end of the season, mayeb next year. |

So did you do a shim kit since you're running a different size rear than stock? Or are you riding it with the slightly fuxored geometry?
