Shop Photo of the Week!
I'f I'm lyin', I'm dyin'...

this is what rolled into my driveway today...I started to laugh, hard. I'm like, "don't leave that heap here! It's dead!" - he _honestly_ was offended at that. He goes "I just need you to time it." I said "brother, what are you smoking cause I got to get me some of that. Keep rolling with that yard art there." I would love anyone to come up with a more ridiculous towing a bike photo. JEEZ-

If this was in europe I might understand it since they don't really have a lot of rules/laws to follow lol. Try to drive in italy. 2 lane road has 4-6 cars side by side so ya over there you'll find a lot of crazy ideas. Over here they're anal about everything

Why would you care how he towes his bike? All he wanted was for you to time it. Seems like a reasonable request.

Thomas and the Ducati
WaBlonde:
No, I get hot under the collar if I even _see_ thomas drag a hand over the Duc...much less anything else.
BTW RE: Thomas---he is convinced that our beluv'd Timberline has a ghost in the farmhouse where he (shall I say "sleeps"? no, beds or nests seems more appropriate) ..so he asked to borrow Mr. Buck the Bulldog to "protect" him from any ghosts, etc. Buck has been staying here each night with him all this week.

Can u berlieve it?

Took this one on my cell phone about two weeks ago, driving from Spokane to Seattle, this was about 30 minutes outside of Spokane, followed him almost to Moses Lake.. 75-85MPH I was kinda shocked, now how I would tow a bike....

I'd talk some crap but that looks like an 87 Celica.

I had an 87 Celica and it was one of the best cars I've ever had. Goooooood times in that car.

Oh, and U-Haul rents motorcycle trailer for like 15 bucks a day. Cheap bastard.

LMAO, you people must be City slickers ! Have you folks ever seen a one wheeled trailer? Probably not. They're not real common but they are legal. Whats wrong with the way that Jeeps pulling the bike?? If I wanted to pull my bike with my CRX thats just how I'd do it.

Wouldn't towing a bike with the rear wheel spinning freely screw up the bearings? Just asking.

I had a one wheel trailer and recently got rid of it. It plugged into the rear hitch and kept the rear wheel on the ground. Got rid of it because of the possibility of it screwing something up.

Was told that letting the rear wheel free wheel like that for an extended time was bad for the rear bearings. Dont know if it is true or not so I didn't take the chance and got rid of the thing. I got it for free anyway and never had a chance to see if it would mess it up.

Its a wheel bearing. You know, like the ones that are on all cars trailers trucks motorsicles. When they wear out you replace it with a new one.

If I pulled a bike like that I'd remove the chain. If it were shaft drive I'd make sure it wouldnt hurt the transmission.

didn't want to take any chances. I was told these types of trailers are no good so I didn't take the chance.

Most likely is that he doesn't want to pay much of anything at all. I don't take on bikes that are treated like this. Their owners usually think (1) that they are worth something (2) that its perfectly fine to let this happen and then expect it to be running (3) without spending more than $100.

To name a few reasons why I could see it was DOA from ten paces were...the sparkplugs were left out, the cylinders were being cleaned by a dirty kleenex by his gf in the passenger seat, and it was covered in dirt and grass. Plus it was not even ROLLING on the rear when it came in the driveway. Note the angle of the wheel, it was being partially dragged. Only an fool would think that working on this bike would have a happy ending for a shop, or for the bike's owner.

I like bikes that have had some care taken with them. They don't have to be expensive, or show pieces, not at all! I love it when someone brings in their baby and they keep it clean, keep oil in it, run it, etc...I get excited, then! I don't know...*kicks a can*...just imho...'course you can't always get that, but there's a huge crevasse betwixt that and this example.

Yeah, after you get that rust-seized motor free and running, you'll be able to set the timing. I hope he has the rest of the bike in the back seat...

I hate to say what else he had back there. I was reluctant to look...could have been anything from his mom on one of those scary carts 'cause shes so inbred that she doesnt have any legs to a banjo to some fat sackies of meth. Whoo. The funny part is that it actually took about 3 minutes of obnoxious and (thinly veiled) rude comments about the viability of the patients treatment options to convince them that, no, really, we weren't kidding about the keep rolling suggestion. I had to walk away after a few minutes -- he drove away pissed.

I normally would not treat a potential food source like that. But extreme situations call for extreme responses. Frankly, it was a tetanus risk to boot.

hoho!
