30 Aug - 1 Sep Weekend
Hello all. As you all know its Labor Day weekend. Surprisingly I have not seen anything posted up for us to get together. Hopefully we will.

A friend and I are considering riding to Medford on saturday and cruise some of the bike shops. We will ride down to Ashland and eat dinner at the Kat Wok (awesome sushi and japanese food). They do not open until 5:00. Then ride back home on 66. If anyone wants to join just let me know.

Other than that, I am open to us all getting together this weekend.

I know the big bike week thing is going on down at Tulelake but it seems to be more of a Harley thing and costs quite a bit each day to get in. Maybe we should form up atleast for a driveby !!!

Funny.....I was just thinking the same sort of thing. I am not going anywhere this weekend, cept for Bend for the Stone Temple Pilots concert on Monday.

Thinking a ride on Saturday would be great......call me a wuss, but would getting back prior to dark on 66 be a better idea? I like the Kat Wok (used to go there back in "the day"), but would vote for earlier dinner.......lets get something together, semi-formally.

not sure about the bike thing in Tulelake. I am probably not "bad ass" enough for that thing.....lol. Neither of my bikes would probably fit in....maybe I will take my boss's Harley out to it.

I actually had a harley rider tell me about the event in Tulelake a few weeks ago, and was told to go ahead and stop by to check it out, even after telling him I only had a sport bike. The wife already informed me we were going to check it out without me even mentioning it to her (I think she just wants an excuse to go for a ride with me lol).

I don't really mind dodging deer at night, but it's a little more nerve racking with the wife on the back.

Taking a trip to Crater Lake sometime Saturday. My Family is going to be staying at the Lodge over the weekend and planning on visiting them while they are up there. Anyone that wants to go along, would love the company on the way up.

Still haven't decided where the wife and I are going to ride Sat, but I will guarantee I won't be eating sushi lol. Anybody else going to be out and about with their better 3/4's, or am I the only one that's going to be lagging way behind in the twisties? I would love to make the Klamath-Medford-Ashland run, but if the group is planning on running a pace similar to what we did on the thursday night ride, hanging with the group riding 2 up is out of the question. lol

Here are my thoughts:

1. Ride on Saturday, leave at a decent time (9-10 am). Meet up on Washburn Way, gassed and ready to go.
2. Go to Ashland via 66. Make a stop or two to get everyone back together. Everyone ride their own pace.
3. Hit Hansens, the Harley shop, the Kawi/Honda shop, and Motorcycle USA (and any other related places). I actually wanted to look at a dirtbike in Eagle Point that is on craigslist, if its still for sale....
4. Get lunch (Roscoe's or Roadhouse) in the middle of the shop visits, probably early on, as those places are in Phoenix and Medford respectively.
5. Ride back to Kfalls by taking the long way home, go 140 back to the cutoff road that goes by the covered bridge, then Conde Creek (sp?) road up to Dead Indian. Then back via Clover Creek, Keno Access, Hyatt cutoff to 66, or whatever.
6. Back to Kfalls by 7 pm.

Anyone interested in this?

Sounds pretty good to me. What would the total mileage be on that route? btw, quad > dirtbike lol.

Sounds like a great ride, but here I am at home recovering from minor outpatient surgery and...I am not supposed to drive or ride until noon Sat. And frankly, with the surgery, no matter how mild, I don't want to go on a ride and pull stitches. Probably be ready to ride in under a week though, if things heal well and there are no complications.

Oh, if you want sushi, I HAVE to recommend Bonsai Teriyaki at the Barnett Road location, just a bit east of I5. Ate there a couple weeks ago and the varieties and preparation/presentation were just wonderful, for a reasonable price.

Mike, Chris, John, Desiree, and I rode bikes to Ashland via Highway 66 today. We rode through Ashland via Highway 99, then to Roscoe's BBQ for lunch. From there we stopped by a couple of motorcycle shops, and then headed back towards Klamath Falls on Highway 140. We cut off towards Lost Creek and then up Conde Creek Road, to Dead Indian Road. Dead Indian to Clover Creek and then back to Keno, and Klamath Falls. Great day, excellent lunch, and a safe ride. It got a bit cool up on the mountain today, as summer is starting to visibly wane!

Here are some pics:

Great ride yesterday, I wonder what the total miles actual were? Thanks for the pics Jeff, the more the wife see's nice bikes like the GSXR and the ZX-12, the more she starts saying I need a newer bigger bike next summer. She really likes that ZX-12.

I am guessing, but probably about 200 total miles. The trip through Ashland, Phoenix, Talent and Medford added some miles, as well as the venture through Conde Creek road, and back to town.

Great ride guys, we will do it again!
