How often do you change your oil in your bike, and what type do you run?

I place several drip pans in the Harley parking areas and when I have collected enough oil I change mine. The oil does not stay in a Harley long enough to loose viscosity and it saves me big money.

I Ride: only on the center of my tire.
~2k miles, unless it's been ridden super hard.

I run hondas oil in my honda, they say change it every 8k so I do it at 4k. I know im not going to change any minds here.... but I think some of you are throwing money away...

Why dont I buy something fancy to put in? well... hondas oil is reasonably priced actually, and if its good enough for them, im all for it.

You guys who do it every 1000 miles. Holy crap. That would be once a month for me. That's a lot of time and money wasted IMO. I shoot for 3-4k and I try to use Honda oil but if I'm in a pickle I'll go with something cheaper, or whatever is available if that's the case. I suppose if I was making bank and had a nice bike and it wasn't my daily driver, I would baby it a little more.

If you use inject bearing grease into your oil reservoir, you never need to change your oil. That's what I do.
