Mr. Noland was wounded in Guadalcanal. A longtime resident of Sandpoint, Idaho; Mr. Noland will be laid to rest there, Saturday, 14 Jun 08. He will make his “Final Ride” on his son Dan’s motorcycle…..The Patriot Guard Rider’s have been asked to join the many motorcycling members of the Noland family, for this final ride. This is a Patriot Guard Rider’s Mission with the INWPG in support. RIDE CAPTAIN: Pete “P8RE8” Croot, (20 ROAD CAPTAIN: Larry “Commo” Griffith (509) 220-4023 IF AVAILABLE MISSION PLAN: On 14 June per the timetable below, we will meet at the Spokane Valley Baptist Church, located at 1222 S. McDonald Road, Spokane Valley, WA 99216. After parking, we will walk over to the Holman Gardens Retirement Center, located at 12912 E. 12th, Spokane Valley, WA 99216. We have been invited to a reception honoring Mr. Noland, prior to our ride to Sandpoint; at the retirement center. While there, we will sign waivers, have our rider’s briefing, pledge and invocation. After questions and answer’s we will return to our bikes and prepare to depart for Sandpoint. The map link below shows the route. Please print a copy and bring it with you as we may become separated during the road trip. Printing a copy of this mission plan will provide you with the contact phone numbers if you need them en-route. Once we arrive at Coffelt’s Funeral Home located at 105 S. Division, Sandpoint ID 83864 we will quickly establish a flag line for Mr. Noland’s wife to move through, with his remains. There will be no service. The Patriot Guard Riders are asked to PLEASE ALL sign the guest book that will be present in Sandpoint. TIME TABLE: 14 JUN 08: 0800-Ride Captain Arrives Spokane Valley Baptist Church 0830-Riders Arrive at Spokane Valley Baptist Church, Fueled and Drained. Park (Please Park along the South Property Line, next door to the school.) and move to Holman Garden’s Retirement Center. 0845-Waivers Signed and Rider’s Briefing conducted at Holman Garden’s Retirement Center. 0930-KSU and ride to Sandpoint, ID, per route map below (1045-POTENTIAL fuel stop in Newport, WA) 1130-Arrive at 105 S. Division, Sandpoint Idaho (Coffelt’s Funeral Home). Obtain flags from Road Captain and Establish honors per Ride Captain’s instructions. 1200-Mr. Noland is laid to rest Dismissal: On order of Ride Captain Debrief at: Slate’s Restaurant and Sport’s Lounge, 204 N. This will be determined by the number and experience of the riders present. Missing Man Formation: We may be running this formation with family riders, followed by Road Guards if used. Road Captain MAY be asked to leave AHEAD of the procession in order to effect final coordination at Coffelt’s Funeral Home. This mission takes place in BOTH Washington and Idaho. Idaho members please remember your helmets! At this time, Posted speed will be march speed. Please keep your large flags cased. Remember to bring your 3x5 flags please.
