When you get to the bottom, head south on 13 for about 20 miles. Take 14 east up to Elk City...it's better than Lolo. Nice camping on the red river, then go back down, 14 turns to gravel at the top all the way to the east end.

..looks like I was too late. Did 14 for the first time 2 weeks ago...can't believe I hadn't seen that one yet.

plus, anything around Stanley, in or out and they're nice roads with beautiful scenery.

I used to live out there, sweet road. I suggest riding it at night since in the summer the day traffic is usually crappy. Old Spiral HWY by Lewiston is also fun...

It'd be a long ass day... not near as much fun either... You'll want to stop at lots of different spots..

like here on Lolo;

Or here on 14;

same spot fromt the other side;

With scenery like this...you have to stop once in awhile and soak it in...

This is Elk City, off in the distance..

This ride would be best as a two day excursion. Just too much beautiful country to see. >350 each day. I'd stay the night somewhere between Kooskia and Grangeville.
