September 6, ride to Bryan's memorial
Bryan's memorial is on September 6 and I am going. I know alot of people down here knew him and will be going so I'm thinking we should meet up and ride together. It's in Lynnwood, an area I know well, so if there isn't a memorial ride after, I can find us an interesting route home. Hell, even if there IS a memorial ride after, I can find us an interesting route home.

UPDATE: We will be meeting the Tacoma/Kitsap group at the Hwy 512 McDonald's and riding up north via 512, 167 and 405. I think that with all the troubles along NB 5 near Fed Way, it'd be smart to keep away from there.

DATE: September 6
TIME: 10:45, 'stands up @11. If you're eating breakfast, be there around 10
MEETING PLACE: Hawk's Prarie Restaurant
ROUTE NORTH: I-5 to 512 McDonald's to meet Tacoma/Kitsap group, then up 512, 167 and 405
ROUTE SOUTH: TBD

I know some of you don't like to slab it but i think it would be best to get up there as quickly as possible. I can come up a nice non-freeway route home too.

If anyone has questions, my cell# is in my profile, it's the easiest way to get in touch with me.

I dont know when you guys last read the thread in the westside section. But I dont think most (like 90%) are riding there. I just dont know how I feel about the whole situation as I didnt know him.

I am on the otherhand 100% down for a ride to honor his name.

I will try to participate in a memorial ride, but for several reasons will not be making this one. I think if you knew him, it is one thing to show up at the service. If not, maybe just wait for the memorial ride. All the threads I am seeing are a little disheartening on this subject, and emotions are high. Make sure you are doing the "right" thing by showing up at his service.

Posted by Bryans sister on the memorial site, "Reading this memorial continues to be a great comfort. Please keep posting. Any funny memories would be great. Shoulder draggers-how many folks were at your dinner?

The Memorial Service will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, September 6 at Alderwood Manor Community Church in Lynnwood. It's right next to I-5 and the mall-you can't miss it. There will be a reception following the service there at the church.

Again, all are welcome. Even if you only knew him online, we'd love you to be there. Come as you are, this is an accepting church.
"
I will be riding up as well. What time are we meeting??

Ok, I updated my original post with some additional information. We will be meeting the Tacoma/Kitsap group at the McDonald's off Hwy 512.

It's 1-1/2 hours to Lynnwood from Oly so we will need to leave Hawks Prairie by 11AM.

I like the idea of breakfast before; I'd say if you want to eat before, be at Hawks Prairie Restaurant at 9:30.

Sorry Jay; maybe you can get your friends to meet us at McD's?

Well it looks like I am out of this one. I had a family issue come up that i can't get out of or reschedule and the only time i can take care of it is this weekend. Sorry all, i was looking forward to leading you all up there and on a cool route back.

Can someone step up and take over this event so it still happens?

Does the Tacoma/Kitsap group know where they are going? If so we can just have them lead.

This is the actual service. If you would like to join the memorial ride, there is a thread. It is on the 7th the day after.
