| Superbiker Joined: Jun 2007 From: Seattle I Ride: 2007 Yamaha FZ6 | Pic of my FZ6 taken with my new Nikon D300 I went out to Alki this morning and took a shot of my bike with my new camera. I wish the grass would have been green.

Thank you! I've been having sooooo much fun with my camera. I take it everywhere. lol. I want to go back out there when there are just patchy clouds with some blue sky and take more pics.

The fact that image looks great, is the gray clouds, along with the yellow and brown dead grass. It makes for the perfect contrast to your bike. To much green and blue would dull the look of the bike, and not let the main focal point of the picture to "Burst" with color. That photo, is excellent because of that (In my opinion)

| Superbiker Joined: Jun 2007 From: Seattle I Ride: 2007 Yamaha FZ6 | Yeah, I didn't mean that I want a completely cloudless sky, I want big puffy white clouds instead of dull gray overcast clouds. One of the guys on flickr said that because of the water being gray (reflecting the sky I suppose) and the overcast gray sky that made the color of the bike really pop out. It's almost "bursting" with too much color. lol. I took about 20 shots of it and this one was the "closest" to what my bike really looks like. And it's still too vivid. I even toned down the settings in the camera. I took one last summer of my bike and the grass was green and it looked really cool. You're right though, with the dead grass and dull grey sky it does make the bike stand out. Thanks for the feedback.

And yes, new toys are a blast.
