Well...both the bike and I are "classics" LOL. But here's a picture of my father in law and his cruiser and my '81 CB750K. It used to be his, but when he retired he bought the new one and gave it to me...nice guy, huh?

We rode to Astoria that day, the back roads from Rainier.

hmmmm...not showing up...maybe Phanfare doesn't link right...I'll try to fix it soon. It's an old CB750...what more can I say LOL?

Hello fellow PNWriders. Just wanted to say happy 4th and to ride safe this holiday weekend. I will be riding from Portland to Windy Ridge on Saturday with a group leaving the Jansen Beach area around 11am. I ride a 97 ZX-11 with a DynoJet Stage-1 kit and a 4 into 1 Vance & Hines header. Scoots down the road pretty good for an oldschool muscle bike.

I Ride: 1995 VFR750F
Hello all, just wanted to say hi. I just found out about the site a few weeks ago, but haven't ever posted. I normally hang out on sport-touring.net, but have been looking for more local rides in the Portland/Vancouver area.

Here's a couple of my favorite shots:

My current bike, a 1995 VFR that I picked up for two grand. Every piece of plastic is either repaired or scratched. I figure it saves on repair bills when I go down again. j/k. Plus I'm going to be getting a new bike in two years anyway.

A shot from my recent California trip. SF was awesome.

Me on a BMW HP2 Sport

And my 2004 VFR, rest in peace.

Those sparks have nothing to do with me being 90 pounds heavier than now and being loaded for bear. Nope, not at all...

I pretty much just started riding in 2005. I rode about 5000 miles back in 1993 on a Kawasaki Spectre, but I really don't count that. I didn't wear any gear and rode like crap. I got the black VFR in February 2005, and totaled it in October 2005. I put over 20,000 miles on it in 8 months.

Edit - When I say totaled, I mean by the insurance company. It needed about $800 worth of parts to get back on the road. I could have bought the bike for salvage, but I had only made about 7 payments on it and because of the mileage I still owed about 6.5K *after* full coverage. No gap insurance, obviously. /sigh

I just got the 1995 VFR and have put about 3500 miles on it since May 27 when I left for the California trip.

Hopefully I can tag along for some rides if you don't mind a beat up VFR coming along.

Welcome Andrew. Most rides happen over the river in Portland, but judging by your mileage you would not be put off by having to cross a river. There are rides posted all the time, so hope to see you out on some.

Hello all
Glad to finally find a forum for this area. I will hopefully be joining up with some of you on the milder rides, at least for now. Just got back into riding after 10 years and haven't done any knee dragging since the early 90's on the 87 gsxr 750 I had at the time.

Hey guys. New to the board. Not so new to riding. Started riding in '01 - '02 in the bay area (san jose) and was promptly spoiled by great riding roads, riding 10 months out of the year, and being able to find a group ride any day of the week.

Looking forward to meeting you folks and going on group rides. I currently live in SW PDX (close to Beaverton) and ride an 04 gixxer 750. Already met a few of you today on the west side ride....

How's it going? Found out about this forum thanks to a cool rider(rhonda695) I met a few sundays back the gas station in Vernonia. Been riding a few years, and finally bought myself a sportbike this year (Triumph daytona 675), I also have an old yamaha srx600, and klr650. I look forward to meeting up with some folk and going riding.

Welcome.

Don't do it on your GSXR. Something small and nimble would make it a lot easier, like a Ninja 250.
