Dirt bike riders?
So i think i'm going to bring my dirt bike ('85 XR250, still runs good) over to this side of the mountains when i go home in August. I was just wondering if there are any others riders around. I have almost no idea where to ride ( i hear there are some good places around) also i know riding alone isn't the most safe thing to do. Basically i'm wondering if i bring my bike over if there are people i can tag along with?

I have one I'm hoping to fix up. If not I am going to buy one as soon as I find one I can afford (seems nobody is selling 80's or earlier bikes anymore...). I've gone riding with a guy I use to work with up at Laird Park. That was pretty fun but it's the only place I've been to or even heard of out here.

You have to have a potlatch sticker to ride up at laird park now. But it has cut down on the number of people up there and it is still fun.

Sweet, It will be around mid August when my bike will be out here. So yeah we'll have to go for a ride some time after that. What do you ride?

wow fellow dirt riders ive been looking for some one local to ride off-road with for 4 years now with no luck. anyway i recently got a new used bike a 2001 WR250F in addition to my ole '86 xl250R but cant get it to the trails since my drivers license is suspended till august so if any one wants to ride and would be willing to taxi me ( even if its in my own rig ) it'd really make my day.

i also know of a few places but i agree laird is the one of the better ones that is near by but potlatch land management recently started requiring a permit which i dont have.

go to skyline drive on the Latah/Bennewa county line. All state land, 70%single track, very few quads. It is a big area and it takes a few trips to learn the trail system but once you get it dialed, you can make some good loops.

Sounds good. I ride a "slightly" modded KX250. The guy I usually ride with rides a XR250 as well. Potlatch stickers are "required" at most riding places around here (it's on thier land), but I rarely see anyone with one.

I'm down to ride with anyone, and know a few places, but always looking for more.

So these 'required' stickers where would you get one and how much do they cost? just out of curiosity

Here is their estimate tool. http://recreation.potlatchcorp.com/i...or/default.asp

Don't forget you also have to put your tow rig on your permit in addition to your bike. If you got a camper, it is an additional fee. Everything gets included into one permit.

Once you create an account, you can log on and buy your permit. https://recreation.potlatchcorp.com/id/Login/

So any one heading out this weekend? I've gone to McCrokey State park twice but would like to find more places to go, or good places at McCroskey (that place is huge), also i don't like riding alone.
