What is going on? Downed rider?
Heard a rumor today of a possible bike fatality last night on the northside of Pullman. What is going on? If this is true, that makes 2 in a month in Pullman.

It was over by the campus commons apts. I drove by as they were cleaning up the mess at about 5:30 AM. Hard to tell what the bike was because it was pretty waded up. Maybe a cbr Yellow.

It looked like the rider over cooked the corner and hit the curb. The wreckage was clear over in the parking lot so he must have been moving at a pretty good clip.

There was a Pullman police and a WSP. I know WSP does investigation when it is a bad one.

I have been thinking about this all day. Hope he (or she) is OK.

I heard the person was running from the cops.

As I understand it, he is dead.

thats unfortunate. however that's also what happens when you run from the cops. on a bike, here are the possible outcomes, in order of most-to-least likely:

1) ends in a spectacular crash resulting in
-a) fatality
-b) serious (potentially crippling) injury and brutal takedown
2) ends in a brutal takedown followed by
-a) all of the following:
-b) jail
-c) license suspension/revocation
-d) epic collection of fines

therefore, only run if you have absolutely nothing to lose. a speeding ticket is never worth your life. im truly sorry for his family's loss.

Yep, they didn't release the name so that usually means they are trying to locate family. He was running from the cops, ran off the road, through a tree, and into a wall. Too bad helmets don't cure stupidity.

According to the Spokesman, he wasn't wearing a helmet. Suspended license, running from cops with no helmet.

The needless loss of a life is a terrible shame.

First I heard he was sans helmet. More chlorine for the pool I guess.

So...never run. He apparently only had one thing left to lose, and he lost it in the hospital. RIP

You can't trust the Spokesman to report accurately. My daughter was in a car accident and they said she wasn't wearing a seat belt and she was. They get extra points for drama.

This is the only reason I think helmet laws are bullshit. If you absolutely can't figure out why you need a helmet on a bike, there's not much anyone can do for you.

That was the point I was trying to make. you always have something to lose, whether you realize it or not.

again, justification for why i tell people to never start on a sportbike or push the envelope with one before you know what you can and can't get away with on it.

I'm betting the suspended liscence is fabricated too, probably just did'nt have his endorsement.....

court records show 2 tickets both almost a year ago, hard to say but I have quite a few more than that and I have a liscence.

i don't have any kids myself, especially not any 20 year olds (being 19 myself) but its amazing how much a simple lapse in common sense can change things.
