I like them both and was just hoping for a good race. I can see both points. stoner was alittle more out of control but only when he was behind rossi, like he was pushing to get past him. I agree with rossi about how all of his passes were clean and they didn't touch but I also agree with stoner about how some of his passes were prety aggressive and maybe inthe wrong spots of the track. some of those moves could have taken both of them out. I can see if it was the last lap but moves like that at the begining of the race is on the verge of stupid.

who cares. best 1st place race of the season. one of the few actual good ones too. btw, quit hatin on stoner. shattered lap record, and was so far ahead he went off and STILL had a 7+ second gap between 3rd. hes fuckin good. that is all.

When I watched the race, I saw Rossi having to get wide, taking very defensive lines. If Casey was going to beat him, he was going to earn it by going the long way around, like he tried several times in T-1, and failed.

It's clear Rossi wants his title back.

How can you say that about the Ducati when Stoner had qualified on pole using his practice tires (allegedly) and then when he actually put on his qualifiers he shaved another half a second off his pace?

Rossi ran exactly the race he had to run to win. No way in hell was he gonna let Stoner get a gap on him. If he did, Stoner would have probably checked out.

I don't really agree with what Stoner had to say and am a little surprised that he came off as a whiny little bitch. Stoner is usually pretty easy-going. He better not let Rossi get in his head or else he's going to fail just like Gibernau and Biaggi.

God job by Rossi. And if Stoner is a whiney bitch, so are most GP riders, Rossi being a regular offender himself

Why is it so hard for the whole world to admit Rossi is the best rider currently in the world? He proves it just about every time he gets on his bike.

best race of the season. tough rocks to Stoner, learn to pass The Doctor and don't do it in the final turn. Lap after lap of him ass packing up on Rossi in that turn and the Eurosport commentators screaming about "YOU CAN'T PASS THERE STONER!!!" They were right....live and learn Casey

Rossi continues as the GOAT in my book

What a great race.

I finally got around to reading the press releases from the race and I lost a lot of respect for Stoner. What a whiny, sniveling (sp?) bitch. Does he expect people to just move aside and let him go to the front uncontested. Man up or go the fuck home. Not shaking someone's hand post race, well, great sportsmanship there Mr. Stoner. What a stand up guy you are.

No, stupid is letting Casey get away from him early in the race. If he lets Stoner lead in the beginning, might as well kiss the race goodbye with the Ducati power.

Rossi did exactly what he had to do. Fast, aggressive riding that kept Casey behind him.

This is racing, not knitting.

Hmmm, I guess I'm not sure what I posted that you are disagreeing with here, since I agree with what you posted in response.

The Ducati bikes make better power. Rossi is better on the brakes (combination of skill and a dialed in bike). However Yamaha needs to find more power for next year. Finding more power during the break wouldn't be a bad idea either.

Exactly! Stoner likes to just end up out front and have a lapping session. Hell if he'd have to oh you know.... earn one from second or third. He also doesnt like the passing back and forth. Normally if he's coming from behind he makes a pass for the lead and is gone. This didnt happen, so he cried. And about the "hes normally not a whiner" um........

Rossi has talent he doesn't just ride his bike he feels it, he calculates he moves he gets his rhythm and he does what he does best. Stoner will never be the rider Rossi is he doesn't have the same talent. Its not the gun who wins its the gunner.....MrsD

Rossi was the youngest rider to have won World Championships in all 3 classes I believe he was 23 when he won his first World championship in this class. I just see more natural talent and passion in Rossi than I do in Casey, who got his start on dirk bikes and long track. Bold thing to say maybe, but you can be assured if I ever say anything about you, I would say it to your face. So I would tell Mr Stoner to his face you will never be the rider Rossi is its just not in your heart..MrsD

That's cuz Stoner isn't used to actually battling for position. He's used to relying on his cheater bike to holeshot the field and then just check out.

Stoner is strong on horespower, not so much on racecraft.

Did anyone else notice the telemetry differences between Rossi and Stoner. Rossi's riding showed it... he was much smoother.

Stoner's telemetry showed from no brakes to full brakes in an instant ...and the same with his throttle. Give a monkey a bike with electronics and watch him try to get it out of shape.

Yeah that was quite interesting... it was very obvious where Rossi would still be modulating the throttle coming out of corners, yet Stoner would get to a certain point and just pin it and hold it... you could even see the reaction in his bike when he did... that's all electronics/TC right there.

Turn off all the electronics and I'd bet Stoner would be lucky to be in the top 5.

Thanks to SuperbikePlanet for the following pic linky
Soo much going on here. See Rossi's bike in classic transfer of weight to the rear tire and unweighting the front. Stoner's bike must be putting down power too but it's also weighting the front where it almost looks like it's tucking. The way Stoner just hammers the brakes, throws it in and hammers it out at a full lean makes me realize what Ducati is accomplishing with electronics. Remember how many times Stoner crashed with Honda?

YES! Watched this with a friend and we were both saying the same thing all the way through the race. Thought Casey was going to get ejected like Lorenzo on a couple corners coming out!
