Ok so a year or 2 ago we hosted up a ride and it was a ride where we helped new and old riders. At the time we all meet up at Hagg lake and had a huge group.
This year I'm hosting it and we will do the same thing except move this to a better meeting place. A place that is in the middle of everything at a shop with the best location in the Metro Area.
This is a casual ride...just a fun day of people with a huge range of riding experience. I expect well over 100 bikes to participate.

More detailed info on the ride will be posted in this thread as plans are finalized. Interested in helping facilitate the ride, contact me through the PM.

The meet up time will be 11 AM at SDS Performance. Their Grand Opening will begin an hour earlier so feel free to show up earlier. The ride is scheduled to leave at 1:00pm.

More to come as we move on to the countdown cya there.

Remember, Safety is always first.

Might have some great things going on for this spread the word all around Oregon. This is posted on about 11 boards and will be a huge event but very well run. Each year we will have bigger and better ideas and plans. Who knows maybe it will be talked about and looked forward to someday.

Also something i wanted to point out which is very important. No one break off the group or any group for that matter until the end of the day.( I would hope THAT everyone makes it to the dinner part so we can have group pictures and chat it up. Or if by all means you have to leave early or something let me know up front when you get there. Again dont leave in the middle going down the road someplace and just take off. Please wait until we come to a stop. It is for the sake of confusion and safety so people are not racing to get off some place there not suppose to be. We will have many many stops in the day because we will go over things and switch positions etc of riders in the groups so they can lead or be 2nd so the helpers can see what your doing and can help you.

I will post tomorrow a new meet location for our ride but i just wanted to toss this out. Tomorrow at 8:00 Pm i will have a new meet place. It is more suitable for our ride cya all there again i hate to mention it but i will it will be huge and alot of fun.
Even if you been riding for 5 years or more you may want to come something will be learned from everyone if there wasn't then we would be in trouble. Even after 20 years i still learn myself and look forward to new things.

Tim

No I have got many PM'S it doesn't have to be posted here from anyone i dont care about that. As a matter of fact if they view it and just show up that's even better. I would love to meet you Salem people and i will also drive to Salem and do some of your rides out there. I love the sportbike community if it's local or out of the way i still make events around Oregon it's alot funner that way. I'm not of them people that stay within 10 miles for a event. If i have to drive out to meet people and do a ride elsewhere i will. Bringing everyone together once a year is truly a fun event to talk about alot of stuff and have great pictures together and meeting everyone and laughing and smiling. I got people coming from Eugene so if they can make it you Salem folks can cya out there

So far, it looks like a pretty big group of us will be coming. Do you know what the pace will be? Will there be opportunities for some faster riders to kick it up a bit?

The Newbie ride,
Before you read, i will say yes and i'm not advertising that, But youasked on here. But i would love to use my experienced rider to help in groups because i need him.
However when i ask the question does anyone want to just go and ride the ride at a medium fast pace i hope no one Say's yes lol. I got to say i rode with a guy today he rode for 6 years. He just moved here lives right down from me. WOW The guy was bad. I mean no lean almost high sided every turn. Looked like a popsicle under him going around corners. So my point is it doesn't matter if it's been 1 week to 50 years if you go in a normal newbie ride and just learn 1 darn thing it may be the thing that saves your ass.
Also i have kinda talked those out of it and just being apart of the whole group for the day. Hell I'm a newbie after 20 years to i learned yesterday dont leave your remote to your garage to get in your house in your pocket lol.

With that being said please read.

Yea I understand people want to just come to this group and ride some to without being new because of all the people that are going to be here. It's a chance to meet allot of people. So to answer your questions yes I will have someone lead a faster ride , same route. This little faster ride won’t go into depth on helping folks but more of a ride for those coming just to meet everyone and get a chance to ride to. I will stress though if anyone chooses to go in that ride (The little bit faster pace one that you don’t go jumping in a newbie group after and mess them up. Whoever is leading you stay with them until the end. The faster group will get done I'm sure an hour before the other groups so you may have a chance to hit something else up or chill and relax. The ride is a newbie ride though and I want to leave it at that. I hope 90% of the people come for that. I don’t want to leave anyone out. The newbie rides will be stopping and switching leaders etc and the Instructors will be giving them help as they make this ride. IT WONT JUST BE FOLLOW ME NEWBIE) it WILL BE FOLLOW ME NOW LET'S STOP AND TALK, NOW YOU LEAD, NOW YOU LEAD SWITCHING IT ETC allot of help will go into this ride. Truly is a newbie help ride. Maybe Newbie isn’t the word to use since some people I know that have rode for 5 years will be in it. They will be in the newbie ride itself, because of what they learned last year. It's going to be up to the person if they really want some hands on or not.
I know a few folks that are coming just to meet everyone and want to go ahead but not be crazy. All I ask is that everyone stay in whatever group you’re in and don’t break off when we get going. You might be coming back as a group is just starting up. However I will make this clear (COMING BACK MEANS YOU WILL NOT BE COMING DOWN AS THERE GOING UP) YOU WILL BE COMING BACK AROUND THE OTHER SIDE OF THE MOUNTAIN.)
The end of the day we will all stop maybe in Wilsonville and be grabbing something to eat. Also getting our last pictures in and talk about the day and all the fun stuff. Remember to everyone that reads this, this is a newbie ride and I'm sure you will learn something. Those that went last year can tell you that. Most are coming back this year if not all to do the newbie ride again with is awesome.

After having my group of friends read your reply, as to help me understand it, it looks like we will not be attenting. We ride Hagg Lake alot, and if you're going to ask the faster riders to wait at the end for the slow groups, before making a return run, then we're going to be there all day to make 1 complete run. Coming up from Salem and Albany, it's not worth it. We usually do 6 complete runs back and forth on that lake with about a 20 minute stop at each end and it makes a complete day. I'm sorry we wont be making it.

Mike.

Were not doing hag lake so it's all yours
But have fun that's a awesome ride there i love that place. We did that last year for our first event. We have other places to go that are untouched to most and better. Which would take about a hour at faster pace and 1/12 or a hair more at slower.
I think I'm just going to leave this a newbie ride now because i lost 2 people 1 to injury and 1 to broken bike. Both were going to lead my faster group. I would myself but i already promised 2 people that wanted to be in my group i would lead them.
Anyhow be safe out there and thanks for the offer that you sent to me.
Tim

To everyone else that is coming from Salem

BTW When i say newbies i dont just mean 1 to 2 months of riding some of these people coming in groups have been riding for 3 or 4 and 5 years and up and have never learned anything other than 1 way. Or there coming just to chill for a relaxed day of meeting people and just going to enjoy the day. It's hard to change and this ride isnt about you have to change it. It only helps them learn new things. The 50 people that went last year I'm sure they would all say they learned alot and them same 50 are coming back or most anyhow I'm sure.
Anyhow see the rest of you out there.

Unfortunately, I just found out that my work schedule is changing and I will be working that weekend. I was looking forward to it and hopefully I can make another ride as I enjoy going to new places and learning new roads!

Besides, I still owe you a beverage of your choice.

Have fun, be safe and I'll see you another time.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't it say in the original post that you did Hagg lake last year, and will do the same thing this year but meet up in a different place?

6 more days to go

There is a Chevron right down the street please make sure you fill up before you come.
We will be sending groups on in different times so we dont have large groups all out at once.
You dont need to pm me or post up here. If your by yourself or with 20 people just show up. See you all soon. I can now say we got a guy coming from CA to join. So make this a huge event this year and we will even make it better next year. Come on out and meet your fellow Oregon riders who ride the roads every weekend.

Since were going out in different groups the first group will be back sooner. We dont leave the secret location until 1:00
So we will be back in time for dinner.
I have talked to some places and our ride will end in Wilsonville. We will be grabbing dinner and i have us a place saved for us. I cant mention the name on here because there not a site sponsor. However they have great deals.
To respect this buessness he asked if i could give him a general idea oh how many will be there.
Could you please PM Me or post up if your staying for dinner after the ride for pics and some chatting. Also if you pm me i can tell you the name of the place and the special they will have for us.
I just need a general idea so he can keep a extra cook or extra server I'm sure you can understand because of how many will stay. I have a little idea but would like to not really guess on this one. . Let me know how many are coming if your bringing 5 people with you if all 5 or just you. This goes to the host's and sweepers to. Please let me know here or a pm thanks.

Thanks for the PM'S i'm good now.

If you didn't pm me then no worries. I only needed a general idea. So come on even if it's by yourself or with 10 or 20 people i got many of them coming to and meet up with all the folks who ride the streets in Oregon.
I added a bunch more to the list for the dinner after. It will be a early dinner with some chatting and pics after. See you all there in 3 days
They got a good burger deal for us. However if you dont like burgers they have plenty of other food. We all will be hungry after our long day I'm sure.

Right on. To bad i cant link other sites. I know people are coming down from Salem. 2 or 3 messaged me from this site from Salem. Hopefully they read this and give you a buzz before Saturday.
If not just come on down you wont be left out and be made felt right at home.
See you all there very soon
The ride will end in Wilsonville so you wont be far to head back after the dinner that is if your staying. The ride ends at Wankers Corner in Wilsonville i have a big area reserved for us all.
Plus they are giving us all a great deal on a wankers burger if you like big hamburgers.
If not no problem they got lots of other stuff. Or just enjoy the ride and people
