From what she said it sounds like he didn't even get a ticket.

I'll be there, but will most likely be in my cage. After some more thought I determined that I probaby wouldn't be a safe rider while feeling that much emotion.

Damit, too short of notice, I'm too far out.

Buck I was thinking more of a ride to the funeral, so much for that

Wow, 2 witnesses and no charges are being filed!? I hope you definitely contact the prosecuting attorney (link provided earlier in the thread) and demand justice. It might not happen, but you won't know until you try and they won't do it on their own. I'm very sorry to hear of your loss.

He didn't get a ticket. I suspect that's SOP in these situations where an investigation is ongoing. It doesn't mean charges won't be filed at a later date.

I initially came up with this idea. I need to do some research and see what it takes to make this happen.

Someon in your blog mentioned that the name of
the asshole that caused this accident wasn't named.
His name is Donald Graves from Lake Stevens.
No one mentioned that Donald Graves who killed
Benjamin Salzano Jr tried to leave the scene and
then when stopped by wonderful witnesses tried
to lie his way out of it. My son is laying in front of
him dead he curses him for damaging his truck.
We have witnesses to all of this for those who
wanted to be neutral until the facts were shown.
Here they are.
Thank you to all those caring witnesses.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends-

The county prosecuter apparently needs to be reminded that this is a CRIME, not an accident, and should be treated as such-

I attended the funeral service today. It was very touching. So sad to see such an obviously fun young man with so much ahead of him.......just....gone. Everyone there was genuinely filled with sorrow. He was taken from a beautiful family and circle of friends and will genuinely missed. Tears refuse to stop. :(

I contacted the Snohomish County prosecuters office by email. The administrators office forwarded my message to the Criminal Division, and they also responded. So far, they said if the case is vehicular homicide that they wouldn't have it so soon, and the investigation would be ongoing. When and if they do get the case, it would be reviewed by the prosecutor for charging.

Let these people know that WE CARE!!!!!!

For those of you that are contacting these people, it's a fairly cut and dry case of vehicular homicide according to the RCW's:

“ Quote:
(1) When the death of any person ensues within three years as a proximate result of injury proximately caused by the driving of any vehicle by any person, the driver is guilty of vehicular homicide if the driver was operating a motor vehicle:

(a) While under the influence of intoxicating liquor or any drug, as defined by RCW 46.61.502; or

(b) In a reckless manner; or

(c) With disregard for the safety of others.

(2) Vehicular homicide is a class A felony punishable under chapter 9A.20 RCW, except that, for a conviction under subsection (1)(a) of this section, an additional two years shall be added to the sentence for each prior offense as defined in RCW 46.61.5055.
http://apps.leg.wa.gov/RCW/default.aspx?cite=46.61.520

The more people that contact them, the better chances that this jerk gets what he deserves.

I think most people are missing the point trying to get the police or prosecutor to charge the "didn't see the motorcyclist drivers" with a crime. I believe the only to begin to see change is through lawsuits. Hit the idiots where it hurts sue them for all they are worth. While it is negligent the law isn't going to be changed by the legislators, many old, don't ride probably might be guilty of it some day themselves and don't want to be incriminated by their own actions. Motorcyclists are probably seen as a careless breed that get what they may deserve.

Don't know about you all, but I get the distinct feeling that this fallen riders bike needs to get rebuilt, by US, and his wife needs to be taught how to ride.

Even if she only rides it around town and stays away from the 55mph or faster roads (all things considered, we couldn't blame her).

Think about it: every time she rides it, she will feel like he's with her in spirit and smiling down on her. There is NOTHING we could do that would have more meaning IMO.

If the bike is beyond repair, we pull off the custom stuff he put on it and install it on a used same year/color bike. Wouldn't you all want that?

I'll be the first to donate. $100 now, more to come later. I have zero doubt that KRUKOV would take on the task of assembling/repairing it, if he's too busy I'll do it myself. As a former 250 Ninja owner, I could do it in my sleep.

Give me your input, if it looks possible I'll start a new thread. If someone could contact his wife or relatives to setup a paypal account to accept the funds it would be much appreciated.

The person who donates the most would also have the honor of leading the ride of honor when she gets the bike and learns it enough to join.

$5, $10, whatever, this aint church and we wont be keeping track - you can be annonymous if you choose.
