Hwy 20 Ride August 24th
This is the last weekend before Labor Day Weekend. I plan to ride a mild ride.

I have never done the northerly part of the route, so I am researching ( and welcome suggestions ) for fuel stops.

I am planning to do this 370 mile route starting at Monroe Chevron, kickstands up @ 9:30am:

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&sadd...1,3.570557&z=9

Basically, Meet in Monroe go North on Hwy 2 -> Hwy 9 -> Hwy 530 -> Hwy 20 -> Hwy 153 -> Hwy 97 -> Hwy 2 back to Seattle.

I will post more details about stops and other meet points later.

SiX + Hooligans - Winthrop <-> Wenatchee

You don't need to plan for fuel stops. Have enough gas to make it to Marblemount, gas up. This will get you to Winthrope, gas up. After that gas up when you start getting low. Plenty of gas stations along the way after that.

^^Fuck dude, I had to look at the map 3x to figure out what you meant. Me=

You can do that a couple times a year. His route is worth doing once. I had a blast on 153, (or was it 97?) Long sweepers.

That looks like fun. Maybe I can gather some of the local hooligans to ride the Winthrop to Wenatchee portion.

I would like to join in on this ride...

I really hope I'll have my Buell back by then because it's more comfortable to me for long distances than the V-Rod.

a bit of an alternate suggestion Clack
When you come off the fall city monroe road if you look across the street on your right youll see the red barn gas station and on the east side of that is woods creek Road
Nice sweepered twisties
Take that into lake Roesiger road and that will take you to Granite Falls
Once inside granite take the first right or the second or third it really dont matter
But the first major cross street take a left now at the first light you can go straight (BOHHHH RING) to Hwy 9 orrrrrrrrrrrrrr you can hang a right at the only light in town then hang an immidiate left (that will put you on 100th st ne which turns into burn road) take that into arlington
once you hit arlington head out past the courthouse to darrington once you hit darrington take a left and that will take you out to HWY 20

Here's some routes taking KillermondoDude's suggestion in mind along with roads that I think look good on the map:

One 389 mi – about 9 hours 18 mins

Two 376 mi – about 8 hours 46 mins

Three 376 mi – about 8 hours 42 mins

Original route is 370 mi – about 8 hours 15 mins

You HAD to pick the 24th. Damn it. I don't get new tires until the 26th. And there's no way I'm going to trust these things for another week of commuting + a 370+ mile hooligan ride. Oh well. Maybe I'll run it in September. Have fun.

I'll map those out when I get home... and update. the Hwy530->Hwy20 looks good, but after Winthrop, I wasn't so sure.

Thanks!

I am going to try to post a schedule of rally points tonight

Currently, there is a 20% chance of Rain on Saturday... but if it is raining anything like it has been the last two days, I may reconsider.

When I lived over on the Wetside, I found that 20% chance of rain meant that it'll rain at least 20% of the time.

I doubt I'll make it. Just found out I have a friend in town from Phoenix and he's staying with me. No, he doesn't ride either.

Oh he totally would ride bitch! But he's also planning on using my kitchen to cook everyone dinner for a party he's also having at my house. If it were an early enough meet up, I could probably still make it.

I'd skip coming back in on Hwy 2 and instead go down 97 through Blewett Pass. It's an amazing pass to ride and while you're out there you should hit it. It makes for a bit of a longer trip but totally worth it IMHO.

Hwy2 also has a buttload of construction going on right now between Stevens Pass and Sultan.

Canceled unless the risk of rain goes to 0.

Due to rain, I don't want to be on unfamilar roads in the Cascade with the possibility of Rain.

I posted this on 8/17. Canceled 8/23... how does that equate to seconds?
