Anyways back to the subject at hand. It's the rider guys, c'mon! Bikes are tune to the riders inputs and reactions. Put two guys on the same bike (not at the same time, dayum!) and you get different outcomes. Different riders have different ways they like their stuff set up. Look at Rossi( not you sweetheart!) he changed teams and bikes and STILL dominated! Just my two percent of two cents.
Now, im sorry if i sound like i dont know what im talking about... But, i have to say something now... lol...

1. Just like the person said above... With no bike there is no such thing as a Rider. But no Rider equals a pieces of metal and plastics that just dont do anything.

2. As far as rider input. It really depends on the companies... According to Valentino Rossi in his autobiography, He states that When he was with Honda, they didnt let him say much in the develop meant of the RC211 and whatever other bikes he rode while he was with Honda. Hence Thats why he wanted to move to a different company, since he wanted to give his 2cents. He also says that, Ducati is the same way. ITS ALL BASED ON DATA. so he said in a nutshell. Thats why he went to Yamaha. Cuz they were hurting really bad for a rider. And he gave his 2 cents and won the MotoGP his first year on the development of the M1.

SO in conclusion... I think that we all can agree... that its all rider. Or wait... did we come to that conclusion? Kinda like... Olympic Athlete. They all do the same thing. But its just that one is normally better then all the rest... So yea... Thats my 2cents. Then again, who am i to say anything? lol

Being a rider is not about a peice of steel and plastic. It's about the soul behind the machinery. A rider is neither the sum of his experience nor is he the total of the machine that he rides upon. Riding on a bike is an action that anybody can claim, understanding that connection is what makes you a rider. A bike is still a bike without a rider. It is an inanimate object. It sit's. It doesn't do anything. It will rust and fall apart. It doesn't need a rider to be a hunk of man made steel and plastic. It does however, take a rider, not someone riding it but a RIDER to bring out the "soul" in the bike.

Yeah, I heard something about putting the "R's" on them makes them faster. I'm thinking about maybe putting like four or five more on mine.

ok I skipped about half of this post, but I will gladly bring my busa to any dyno to put it up against your (or any) R1.

if you have 155 at the crank, you have about 136 to the wheel (guessing on the 17% factor) the busa come stock with 161 (99-07 busa) to the ground, about 177 at the crank. The new 08 busa comes with 190 at the crank and 177 to the wheel...

your dreamin if you think your R1 can got HP for HP on a dyno or on the street! If you want to find out, let me know, I will be in seattle on may 17, I will go pound for pound with all the R1s you can find.

I have a friend with the R1 limited edition, 1 of 500 made, full akro pipes, power commander race filter, marcheseni wheels, etc and even he knows in a straight line or on a dyno he cant got number for number against a busa...

I suggest you get some proof before you start trying to put out facts you dont know much about...

just my .02 tho, and I just built an 07 r1 with full graves titanium pipes, filter powr commander, and fully built and motor still around 2k miles, it was putting down about 163 to the wheel...

you guys have alot of valid points by the way, it is mostly in the rider...

and i hav no issues with other types of bikes, I am partial to suzuki but i have ridden an 07 r1 as previously mentioned, and a honda cbr 1000 (07) and a 1979 harley davidson... I like them all!

but i heavily disagree on the hp numbers that most people claim, i say post your dyno sheet or stop talking about hp if you got nothing to back it up!

well, I love my R1!~ I dont give a Flying Rats ass what anybody says...!~ lol...
And Lastly. I dont know much about Busa's and Zx-14's. besides the fact that they are putting out crazy power, and crazy speed. I was coming back from Goldendale with a buddy of mine who has a ZX14 and we were going "a lil faster then we should have" And i was way up in the powerband, and he just ripped right by me like i was standing still ... I was very sad to say the least. lol.

I dont have dyno charts to prove it, but i know on paper or what the manufacture is claiming the 07's are putting down like 172hp at the crank. But then again, DAMN Yamaha likes to put their numbers a lil higher then they really are. haha... silly Yamaha! lol Anyways... thats all i gotta say. lol

Ya, nobody can even come close to catching r6on1 in the corners. I have to wait til the straights to even see him again.
