Almost Got Hit !!
I was riding to work this morning and came up to a traffic light, when the car in front of me slammed on the brakes. As i hit the brakes, i noticed that the car behind me was a little too close and I wasn't sure if it was going to stop in time. I turned out the the left and stopped as i heard a screech. I looked back to find that there was only about 2 feet between the 2 cars. Man, I am glad i decided to turn out. Coulda been a bad start to the day..

Glad you're ok.

I lost a friend because a van drove over him while stopped at a light. No brake marks or anything. I always check my six at a stop.

Good situational awareness! You saved you ass by knowing what everyone around you was doing, instead of locking on to just what was happening in front of you.

I got hit in my car by a 15 passenger van about 3 years ago while i was stopped, and he was going 45. I can't stop at all now without looking behind me and making sure the person is stopping. i hate how people don't see bikes.

we should start a thread about dumb ass drivers in yakima. its almost a daily thing where i almost get hit.

just for everyone watch out an older white lady in a newer silverish blue mercedes wagon. i almost got hit twice by her once on 1st and nob where she decided not to turn onto nob hill and once later the same day she just had runnel vision and diddnt look in your mirrors while lane changes.
