Check out this Portland thread and tell me why we should not do this.

EDIT: Kicked off today. Here are the rules:

    TAG Rules

    1. You ride to the current tag photo.
    2. You photograph your bike at that location in approximately the same orientation as the original.
    3. Post the photo
    4. You have 24 hrs to ride to, photograph and submit your new photo tag.
    5. Tag location must be within reasonable distance, but not limited to Douglas County.
    6. Another rider must then tag your photo.
    7. If your tag location was previously tagged, it will not count, might be a good idea to get 2 pics so you have an alternate.

EDIT: If you don't post your new tag photo within 48 hrs, the original tag is still up for grabs.

    Good?

  2. not a bad idea..
    what are our edges?
    north at the county line
    west to the county line
    south to the county line
    east to the county line
    ??
well, that could have been easier...
    limit to within the county??
    (nice av btw lol)

  3. o crap.. the question was why we should NOT do this....
we should not do this because folks will hate riding around to some unknown place and then having to figure out how to post a pic.
we should not do this because we will be forced to give up our secret favorite riding roads and spots.
we should not do this because we are POSERS around here and all the good posing spots are already taken.
    blah blah blah blah

    you first!!

  4. He already did start this in a way. Got a pic of himself in front of the mall, and since I didn't have a bike at the time, the helmet got in the shot. Same idea, shot from about the same area/angle.

I was reading that thread a while back, made it through a lot of it, but it's been awhile. I was thinking the same thing while reading, it would be fun to do.

  6. That avatar..... crackup:crackup: So....So.... what s the word.....

  7. Here's the rules from the "Tag, You're It" forum at ST-Owners

    TAG Rules

    1. You ride to the current tag photo.
    2. You photograph your bike at that location showing both your bike and the object in the photo.
    3. You then take a photo of your bike in front of another landmark, geographic location, etc.
    4. Post both photo's following the rules.
    5. Another rider then must tag your photo.
    6. If your tag location was previously tagged, it will not count, might be a good idea to get 2 pics so you have an alternate.

  8. well, who's going to get us started?

  9. +1 :mfclap:

  10. i guess whoever gets a pic up will start..

  11. About time you came to your senses and listened to me. :nana

  12. How revealing do you have to be in regards to the Background and it's identifiability?

    New word,I guess...Identifiability....

In other words, how obvious must the landmark, etc.,be?

  13. Not sure what the consensus is here but.....here's how it's done on ST-Owners.com
    http://www.st-owners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=42713

Funny thing about that thread was Dale "Styles" was with me when I took my picture in front of the Westport Lighthouse...

Concerning identifiability (which I LOVE btw. LOL ) --

We talked about this today on our ride.. nondescript landscape that could look the same in more than one place would not work. There must be enough landmark in the picture so that it wouldn't be mistaken for some other place, right? Other than that, I don't see the need for other requirements.

Let's do this. Jim's rules are fine, with one change:

-Once you submit your tag of the current photo, you have 24 hrs to submit the next photo for tagging.

That way, you're not having to find the current tag AND do a new one all at once. I don't know. Makes sense to ME. :)

I added the rules to the first post in this thread.

    Anyway, here's the first one:

  15. Talk about nondiscript. No land marks, no wording. I'm going to ride around and find a redish building.

And a helmet sitting on top of an APE

LOL. Maybe there will be a hint if nobody finds it.

No, that's impossible. Click says there's no landmarks and wording. A reddish building isn't enough to go on. Or the other building in the background for that matter.

crackup: I should have told Marty I was going to use one of the photos for the photo tag thing so he wouldn't tell where we stopped for coffee.

  17. That's it! I've been all around Burien and I can't find it. I want my deposit back.

  18. I've been there with Marty before,he didn't have to say a word...
