Carb Sync'ing in the Wenatchee area....

Discussion in 'Wenatchee' started by dartmanx5, May 14, 2011.

  1. Just figured I'd throw this one out there for all the Wetsnatchee riders, so, if anyone needs to sync their carbs, I've got a 4-gauge that I'm willing to help use on your bike if needed, I've seen multiple threads in the Mech/Tech section where peoples are needing assistance...

So, hit me up if you need to sync 'em and don't wanna spend the big $$ at one of the local shops, maybe we can get a maintenence meet-up going in the Wetsnatch area.

  3. Is this something that needs to be done periodically or only after you change something?
Are there signs that it needs to be done?

  4. Both, actually, if you tear your carbs off to re-jet them/clean them etc. then it may be time to re-sync your carbs, Syncing the carbs basically adjusts the throttle butterflies to their correct position to get your bike to run at it's optimum potential, by adjusting the butterflies to open/close at the same time and rate, it will make sure that the engine is recieving the correct airflow throughout all the cylinders. If your bike has a stuttering or roll-on throttle problem, it may need the carbs sync'd.

  6. Aw, c'mon, now Rip......

    Hehe......
Maybe just a "test ride" for payment... (that is, if I'm THAT infatuated by your bike) but this probably wouldn't happen unless I got to dial in a RZ350......

Then, ya, maybe holding parts hostage would be a possibility:devil:

C'mon now Rip, my first sport bike was a RZ350.....

I was vastly disappointed when I sold it for a VFR that was twice the cc's and half the fun!

Oh yeah, I had the 421cc Banshee big bore kit with Toomey's and 42mm flatslides.....

  10. Nah, I'll stick with my 600, light (currently 385 wet) plenty enough power with the mods I've done, though I still have no place on the street for it to reach it's full potential.......

I've learned through trial and error that I have no need for a liter+
