I just got an fz1 with, among other problems, no fuel pump. What's the consensus on pumps: used, new aftermarket, or new OEM is the only way?
Personally, I try to go with OEM whenever I can. On my older 1980 bike, that's not always possible. But I still avoid using used mechanical parts. On a fuel pump, I don't think I'd go with a used. Seems like the piece of equipment you wouldn't want going out when you're on a ride.
I found a used one for 20 bucks shipped. At the very least, as long as it works, it'll let me get this bike fired and evaluate it further.
