"Big Bang" Motors

Discussion in 'Mechanical & Technical' started by beansbaxter, Apr 28, 2005.

  1. How close are we to seeing a "Big Bang" motor in a street bike? Everyone seems to have chosen to stick with inline fours, unless Suzuki springs a street going V-4 on us and Honda builds a V-5 MotoGP replicas. Hmmmmmm.

Honda is already in the makes with the v-5. It is to replace the v4 in the VFR. They already have pics out in Japan. I will have to find the link, and then post it for ya.

  3. I believe that all the Moto GP bikes have done the "big bang" thing as much as possible already. Basically, the inline fours fire like a twin (two cylinders firing at the same time). I hear rumors that this will find itself in streetbikes real soon. Nothing like having 160 TRACTABLE horsepower.
  4. Funny part is, twins have run like that the entire time
