  1. From Spokesman-Review, spokane 6/13/2005

A 39 year old Coville man was killed saturday night when he was thrown from his motorcycle, the Washington State Patrol said in a news release sunday.
Shawn L. Owens was riding south on Reservation Road in StevensCounty. about 3 miles north of Ford, when he left the roadway on a curve. The report said the cause of the accident was speed. Owens was wearing a helmet.
Owens was pronounced dead at the scene, WSP said.

<Of particular note to spokane peeps. This is the rez road from welpinit to hwy 23. We all ride this from time to time, be safe out there.>

  2. We (MedStar) flew on this. Here's the rest of the story.....
According to the other motorcycle riders there, they had met this guy while drinking beers at a bar and got into a discussion about that particular curve on that particular road and who could ride it the fastest. They all went out to prove their prowess and this guy went first. He ran off the road at 100 mph and hit a telephone pole about eight feet up. As we say in the business - DRT. Dead Right There.
Lots of lessons to be learned here.... don't drink and ride, don't let your aliigator mouth overload your hummingbird ass... RIDE YOUR OWN RIDE.
