Mills Canyon Fire Aftermath Question.

Discussion in 'Trail Reports' started by Dubnut, Jul 26, 2014.

  1. Curious to know who I would have to get in touch with in the local Dirt community and Forest Service for an idea.

Due to the damage of the Mils canyon fire it will take a while for nature to bounce back. What if, in conjunction with The National Forest Service, Possibly Weyerhauser, and local trail riders volunteering time we go in and re-plant strategically.. At the same time we cut in a new trail system for a ORV area.

    Feasible?

    Just a thought I had.

  2. That is an AWESOME idea. Count me in if they are willing to go along with this.

USFS headquarters in the valley is in Wenatchee (509) 664-9200

Entiat ranger station is (509) 784-4700

I'll even be up to helping in the Methow.

  3. I highly doubt they would let an orv trail be cut. Its worth a shot though.

They're likely working on a rehab plan right now as the fire is dying down. Probably wouldn't be able to get in there til next year when the fire is out.

  4. that is an awesome idea! Not sure how they will respond, but it's worth a shot. There are lots of trails up in that area... you just need to know where to find them.
