New member- visiting late June

Discussion in 'New Users' started by Multistraduc, Dec 23, 2017.

  1. Hello,
New member (from IN) taking a work trip to Eugene, OR late June. I plan to stay an extra few days maybe a week and rent a sport/advtourer. Just looking for some good routes in the area. Like long days, quick pace on twisty secondary roads away from major traffic. Just want to make the most of it and looking for advise on which direction to go/what weather to plan for. Canada not out of the question. Never been to the PNW area, always been jealous of your scenery and roads.
    Thanks all,

  2. Grab some maps of OR WA and BC from AAA, they have a regional that includes part of BC. Then go to 'Ride Reports' here on the forum and look at DESVIO's Roads Guide pinned at the top. That should give you a pretty good idea of where you would like to go.

  3. There are some great rides here. Both to cover some ground and enjoy the scenery as you go, but also some slower if you want to spend a little more time just visiting some of the communities.

I'm in Seattle, but there are similar sites for OR.

There are also some great options at Backroads Discovery, especially for the ADV routes: http://ridebdr.com/WABDR

I use the WABDR map, sometimes only portions of a route depending on my destination. I also use http://www.motorcycleroads.com/Routes/Washington_123.html

  4. Near Eugene go over the Aufderheide road. One of the best roads in the NW. Also Smith river to 101 and of course 101.
