Here is a post from my other forum. This is from a fellow Aprilia rider that had a track day at SRP. I don't what you guys have seen out there but this is plent fast. He also posted his Vmax indcator on the site (Aprilias record the highest speed and can recall it with a push of a button). 179 mph on a 2004 Aprilia at the end of the front straight! Heres the post: Well the first track of the year for me was a great one with lots of good results. First the Pilot Powers worked like glue they never once gave me reason for pause the more I pushed the more they stuck; Great freaking tires! tire pressure 30 rear, 32 front cold they heated up to 35 and 36 when hot. Second: I have been working my PCIII and an advanced map set up with the trim values changed to lean out the rear and richen up the front. I knew it was much better than befor but did not know exactly how much. Last year this same track I was hitting 165 (indicated) near the end the mile long straight. This year I was able to hit 179! I had a few runs of 177 and thought that was all she had but changed my tuck position slightly and found a few more for 179. Third: I changed the brake pads out to Ferodo XR sintered and they were flawless infact much better than I am but at that speed I was very ginger with the lever. Over all way past my expectations. Oh yeah and my bike turned 25,000 miles old on the track, I thought that was a very fitting place to have the milestone turned.
