Wednesdays at the Strip

Discussion in 'Westside' started by SilverDawg, Jun 14, 2005.

  1. Have any of you ever been to one of these? There is one scheduled for next Wednesday. Probably mostly Harleys, but it sounds interesting. This is at Pacific Raceways in Kent.

    The name is “Wednesdays@theStrip”.
    It all happens from 4:00 - 10:00pm.
It’s Free to get in the track if you come on any make of bike.
Food, Beer Garden, Burn-out contests, Bikini contest, Bands,
“Run what you brung Drag Racing” for $20 all night.
The back half of the road course will be open to let people run at $5.00 a lap.

Not your average Taco Thursday bike night in town.
This will be a way for bikes of all types to get together, run the track and have some fun hanging out.

Not to mention all the great back roads you can take to get to the track!

  4. Why don't you start that contest yourself.

  5. Post a video and we will get working on that.

  6. I am hoping to make it down there, but I take off for the weekend the next day. Have to see what I can do.

Any idea what sort of gear/bike setup you have to have to take a lap or two around the track? I'd sure like to give it a try if I didn't have to have a full suit and do a bunch of wiring/taping just to hit the track for a lap or two.

can't be anymore than a beginner's session at a track day - you've got your textile pants, jacket, gloves, boots, you should be good...

  13. All I read was SilverDawg saying "strip" and jezterr saying "5 bucks"

  14. And you wanted to ride straight over here didn't you?

I'm not sure the word "straight" is quite the right choice...

  16. With the direction this thread is taking I'm not sure I want to post, but Blondie's traveling on business and I'm thinking about heading straight to the races tonight on my 'Max!

might have to swing by the track to see what all the hubbub is all about...

  20. Really, it's pretty funny but a guy with a hopped up turbo Volvo sedan tried to run me once, out of the light.. it's a deserted one way street here, 4 lanes wide.. we were rolling and I punched it.. I forgot to dial down when I hit third (he was 150+ feet behind me by then, although he stayed close at first, surprising me with his sleeper) and I wheelied so far up I had to totally let off.. the 'Max is a scary bike and accelerates like a rocket, in spite of weighing 600 lbs!

I'm just going tonite to watch..have a nice flask and soda and enjoy the show.. maybe I'll run there when I "Mad Max" it..?

The full-on "Blower-Max" can run 8.6 seconds at over 160 MPH

    When's the bikini contest?
