Greetings my fellow Rogue Valley motorcycle enthusiasts!

I've been lurking for quite a few months, but haven't really posted. I noticed this site doesn't get a whole lot of traffic lately. I've seen many active fan boards dry up as folks migrate over to a Facebook group that serves a similar purpose (I've experienced this on other car & motorcycle boards as well). I fully assume the love of our two wheeled machines is still alive and well in the valley, right?

My question is, where do people like us hang out online these days? I saw "I Ride Rogue", www.iriderogue.com, but it seems more adventure oriented and not a huge crowd there. I also spotted "Motorcycle - Rogue Valley" on Facebook that has ~500ish members, but I haven't joined it. Maybe this site is still THE go to place for getting together with fellow riders in the area.. maybe someplace else?

I grew up riding dirt bikes as a kid, but I'm mostly pavement riding as an adult. I've done a few track days here and there but not dedicated enough for certified racing. I did the cruiser thing for a while but kinda burned out on all the chrome and leather chaps. I've settled on more performance oriented machines. My goal on most rides is to carve the twistiest roads I can find at full lean :) I currently ride a 2010 K1300S and use it for quick day rides as well as multi-state, multi-day rapid touring.

What about you? Who are you, what do you ride? What's your favorite local online site?

Thought I'd share a photo I took yesterday on a jaunt through Buncom... Gotta love southern Oregon winters! :)

The Motorcycle-Rogue Valley group is pretty active with a wide range of riders. this region hasn't seen much in terms of traffic because of Facebook groups. Since most people have FB they check every day it's easier to follow along. Hopefully this summer I'll be able to throw out some bike nights and rides. Most of the time someone will post info here and in that RV group.

Glad to see you post here and look forward to meeting you and shoot the breeze about your trackdays.

Hey there! Glad you started this thread. I am wanting and searching for friends to ride with as well in our area. I just joined this forum. I am a member of two Facebook groups here, but have yet to go on any group rides. One is Southern Oregon Dual Sport, and the other is the one you mentioned.

I have only recently had another street bike (KLR 650) in modern times, although that bike is far from modern :). I had a V-Star 1100 many years ago, back before Facebook. My only motorcycle-esque experience before the V-Star was quads. I bought an XR400R early in '15, broke 2 ribs, and realized that I was wiser than once thought. I sold that to get the KLR. I wanted to be able to commute, hit some trails, and camp in the back country, all on a budget. But my needs are evolving. The KLR is simple, but needs many repairs and adjustments to fit my 6'6" 320 lb frame. I'm thinking that I might need to just finance a bike that fits me better, and leave the dual-sporting alone for the moment.

I'm currently waiting on parts to put the KLR back together. So it will be a couple more weeks until I can safely ride again.
