XR400 Problem...

So i have a 98' Xr400 and jsut recently had a new counter shaft and counter shaft put into it. And now the bike is starting to drop into gear by itself jsut when it is just idling there. This all started riding walker last week it happened 3 times through out the day all after the engine was hot. What could be wrong somthing to do with the replaced parts or clutch or somthing completely different....

Sounds like the return/centering spring for the shifter is either broken or not installed properly. Might have to pull a side case to check.

On this parts fiche, I would be specifically looking at part number 10 or 11.

the only way to get to the shift shaft to look at it is to split the cases which will not be done again. That we had to do it once and once was enough. I truly hope that woud not have to be done. would a shop have a warrenty on there work
